Sunrise is almost always a crap shoot for me. Most of the time when I plan to go, it is amazing because I do lots of advanced weather research. On this shoot, I saw no color as the sun entered twilight, so I experimented with long exposures with a long lens. However, as the sun peaked the horizon, the orange and golds appeared in one part of the sky, right behind the lighthouse. Lucky!
